The business promotes inclusion, but they continue to hire and promote people in the business whose values do not align with the message they are trying to convey so it is difficult and tiring in those inclusion groups to advocate to an audience that doesn't care.

I've always heard good things about Alcoa's commitment to diversity - I first joined the company on a women in engineering scholarship so I've always felt supported as a women in engineering. My department is also very diverse with employees of all different backgrounds and stages of life. A few chemical engineers have young children so it's encouraging to see women with young kids are supported and employed in Alcoa's workforce

We have a very even gender ratio, with support networks available for LGBT, ethnic groups, women and indigenous employees

There are more women coming through the graduate program however the sites are often still dominated by men due to the nature of the industry.

Gives opportunity to people from less privileged backgrounds.

The company offers a lot of traineeships, particularly from local high schools.

I was fortunate enough to have a scholarship which relieved financial pressures of uni - otherwise I'm not very familiar with how alcoa attracts applicants.
