About Citadel Securities

Citadel Securities positions itself as the next-generation capital markets firm. Their approach emphasizes the deep integration of financial, mathematical, and engineering expertise. This translates into a combination of strong trading experience, cutting-edge analytics, and advanced technology. By leveraging these strengths, Citadel Securities delivers critical liquidity to the world's most important financial institutions while simultaneously shaping the global markets of tomorrow.

Your role

Citadel Securities is a leading Options Market Maker. The ability to seamlessly blend fundamental and quantitative analysis has been one of the drivers of their success. Fundamental research analysts work closely with the trading team, using superior processes, data and intuition to forecast the first, second and third moment of a security’s price distribution around thematic and idiosyncratic events. Fundamental research analysts refine forecasts into actionable trade ideas.

The internship is a 10-week program that allows interns to challenge the impossible in markets through collaboration and connection with senior team members. In addition, interns will have the opportunity to network and socialize with peers throughout the program.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop in-depth fundamental knowledge of a sector or industry, as well as broad base knowledge of financial markets
  • Identify pricing inefficiencies and collaborate with traders to monetize predictions
  • Identify new sources of data and transform unstructured data sets into signals
  • Own the information space you work within (i.e. large-cap tech) by monitoring trends in the marketplace
  • Employ a holistic approach to predicting the distribution of outcomes and making volatility predictions

Training & development

The internship program at Citadel Securities fosters a culture of intensive collaboration and teamwork. Interns enter the program alongside a cohort of peers, sharing experiences and challenges. They then have the opportunity to team up with some of the brightest minds in the industry, who are dedicated to helping interns develop their skills.

The program is designed for students who thrive on challenges. Interns are entrusted with tackling real-world problems for the business, and their solutions have the potential to be implemented and used within the firm.

Compensation & benefits

The firm provides a comprehensive benefits package that exceeds industry standards. This includes access to health and wellness programs, such as a concierge healthcare team, health advocate and health counselling, depending on location. Additionally, the firm offers personal benefits like egg freezing and adoption support, as well as paid parental leave and back-up daycare. Financially, the firm supports employees with tuition reimbursement, student loan refinancing, a 401(k) match, and identity theft protection.
