      DO WORK THAT MATTERS

We are looking for people to join Human Resources or Legal Services for our Summer Intern Program.

      Human Resources

In Human Resources, we support each of CommBank's business units from start to finish. This includes recruiting great talent, providing people advice and solutions to our colleagues and business leaders on employee relations, remuneration and strategic initiatives. We're responsible for working with our client teams to build great leaders, teams and technical talent, drive performance and an inclusive culture.
You'll have the opportunity to work on exciting and diverse HR projects and actively influence people's careers, and learn from some of the industry's most talented professionals.
You are creative, solutions focused, resilient, capable of identifying and growing talent, flexible, proactive, and strategically minded and a great role model of team and leadership behaviour.

      Legal Services

Legal Services partners with the Group's business units to assist them in achieving their strategic goals and priorities through the provision of expert, commercially focused legal advice. There are a wide range of opportunities in Legal Services, and can range from supporting our customer-facing business to working on complex transactions and legal matters.
Working in Legal Services, you'll have the opportunity to gain exposure to a number of internal legal teams to develop a detailed understanding of the Bank's legal practices, and assist in providing advice on a variety of matters for different business units within the Group.
You are a values-driven strategic thinker, with commercial acumen and strong communication and relationship management skills. You're a team player who is naturally curious and passionate about finding pragmatic, customer-focused solutions, applying your judgement and adapting to the ever-changing business environment. We consider Law degree graduates who currently have or are able to obtain a Practising Certificate in the relevant jurisdiction (NSW).

      WE INVEST IN YOUR FUTURE

The program commences on the 22 November 2021, where you'll join as a full-time employee over the summer. Here you'll get a taste of what it's like working at CommBank through formal learning events and workplace-based experiential learning, to help you decide if we're the right fit for you.

It centres around 4 key elements:

      • Shine: Contribute from day one by working on real projects that impact our business and our customers, within Australia's largest bank.
      • Develop: Participate in market-leading training to develop your technical and soft skills. This will help with the transition to full-time work from university and ensure you excel in your immediate and future roles.
      • Network: Build networks and friendships through unparalleled access to senior leaders, project leads and program sponsors, enhancing your personal and business profile.
      • Contribute: Give back to the community through graduate initiatives, driving positive change across our organisation and improving the wellbeing of our intern cohort.

      WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

      • You are an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident at the time of your application (essential); or
      • You are a New Zealand citizen already residing in Australia, and an Australian resident for tax purposes at the time of your application (essential); and
      • In your penultimate year (second last year) of your university degree, or if you are doing a double degree, you must be in your penultimate year of your overall studies (essential); and
      • Achieving at least a credit average across your university degree (essential).

At CommBank, we're committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce reflecting the customers, businesses and communities we serve. As a value's driven organisation, we nurture and support our people; through focussing on skill and talent development, collaboration, flexibility and internal promotion. With service in mind at every touch point, we take accountability for the role we play in securing and enhancing the financial wellbeing of people, businesses and communities. At CommBank you can be you.

I value CommBank’s approach to practical on-the-job learning. I’ve had the ability to apply the communications and creative problem-solving skills that I learnt at uni, to what I’m working on in the real world.
