What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
Graduate salaries are reasonably standard, but they offer a fantastic way to gain experience in a government role.
Graduate, Brisbane - 02 Nov 2023
I believe the pay rate for the department engineer is under the industry average
Graduate, Brisbane - 30 Oct 2023
Somewhat relative to private industry as a graduate however when looking at P03 and above positions the compensation starts to fall significantly behind. There are no bonuses to speak of.
Graduate, Townsville - 30 Oct 2023
Very low compared to private entities
Graduate, Rockhampton - 26 Oct 2023
Pay at the organisation is acceptable at the graduate level. Bonuses aren't really a thing.
Graduate, Brisbane - 26 Oct 2023
The pay of a government is not at competitive as the private industry, however, the company is more prepared to fight alongside an employee in the event something goes wrong. As a graduate bonuses are limited.
Graduate, Brisbane - 24 Oct 2023
Early-career pay is competitive and attractive, particularly taking working hours and flexibility into account, however pay progression is relatively slow depending on field of work.
Graduate, Brisbane - 24 Oct 2023
It's good, but I'm a lil nervous with the cost of living in general. Like its more than i've been paid before but I will be living by myself ect.
Graduate, Brisbane - 24 Oct 2023
Good starting rate for graduates, but not competitive compared to private industry at higher levels.
Graduate, Gold Coast - 24 Oct 2023
There are no bonus in TMR, but the pay is great for a graduate.
Graduate, Brisbane - 24 Oct 2023
Pretty happy with my pay, we are about to get a pay increase as well.
Graduate, Brisbane - 24 Oct 2023
Pay is fair. Bonuses in the standard sense aren't available, but there is a healthy superannuation compensation, leave loading is paid, and cost of living adjustments are paid out once a year. As well as this, there are a few claimable expenses, such as a small health allowance, and support for professional memberships. The company routinely goes through enterprise bargaining agreements, so pay rises are common and expected year on year.
Graduate, Brisbane - 24 Oct 2023
There are no bonuses. Salary is quite competitive.
Graduate, Brisbane - 24 Oct 2023
Bonuses do not occur within the public service. We do receive healthy Superannuation contributions however. Pay is competitive, and as progression to higher roles or higher duties is easier, pay can be considered higher than other companies.
Graduate, Brisbane - 23 Oct 2023
It is lower than the general market, but it provides job security.
Graduate, Rockhampton - 19 Oct 2023
This is my first job and I did not think I could earn what I do with all of the extra benefits such as learning opportunities, professional membership and flexible working hours.
Graduate, Brisbane - 18 Oct 2023
Learning and working at the same time... I can't demand better than that.
Graduate, Brisbane - 18 Oct 2023
What are your company's best or most unusual perks? For example: free tickets, free dinners, moving expenses, taxis, pension, etc.
Generally, government positions are flexible and secure. I appreciate the amount of opportunities there are to grow, develop and move around.
Graduate, Brisbane - 02 Nov 2023
Good access to additional training if requested. Relocation fees covered. Work related travel costs are covered. However there are little to no other perks to speak of.
Graduate, Townsville - 30 Oct 2023
Leave policies
Graduate, Brisbane - 30 Oct 2023
None
Graduate, Rockhampton - 26 Oct 2023
Flex hours and WFH arrangements are nice perks but are not unusual in this day and age. The access to mental health services is a nice perk.
Graduate, Brisbane - 26 Oct 2023
Generous leave and super
Graduate, Brisbane - 24 Oct 2023
The best perks are private health, salary sacrifice options, health reimbursements, work flexibility arrangements and leave entitlements. No unusual perks.
Graduate, Brisbane - 24 Oct 2023
Access to a government only rooftop bar is a nice perk after a look week, ability to build up and take accrued leave has its benefits for a improved work/life balance. Higher then typical Super contributions is a nice benefit helping set post-work life up.
Graduate, Brisbane - 24 Oct 2023
Generous leave policies and Flexi work arangement
Graduate, Brisbane - 24 Oct 2023
Leave is encouraged and ample. The accrual and spending of flex time is encouraged also, which makes adjusting a work-life balance easy.
Graduate, Brisbane - 24 Oct 2023
Gym membership discount, and moving expense compensation
Graduate, Rockhampton - 23 Oct 2023
Leave policies within TMR are generous. The system is easy to navigate, managers are approachable about leave conversations, and accrued time off means that if a day off is needed it is extremely easy to get. Moving expenses can be covered by those moving a long distance for work, but I have not experienced this.
Graduate, Brisbane - 23 Oct 2023
Leave policies and higher supper.
Graduate, Rockhampton - 19 Oct 2023
TMR reimburses my professional membership to the Institute of Internal Audit every year.
Graduate, Brisbane - 18 Oct 2023
