Application Process & Interviews at FTI Consulting

Brilliant, the recruitment officer at FTI was a great help during the interview process. The firm was super understanding that I would not complete my final year of study until 6 months after the commencement of the graduate program.

the interview process for me was different to the typical process as I did not complete assessments. I had two interviews with the Brisbane MDs. I found it to be relaxed, I had opportunity to show who I was and also ask questions about FTI

The interview process was quite lengthy (took around 2 months in total from when I first applied). The process is listed as follows: - Initial application submitting my resume and CV. - Undertake a psychometric test. - Call with the recruiter - Assessment Day at the office which consisted of an individual assessment, group assessment, and individual interview. - Job offer

Initial online applications, followed by a call with HR, assessment day and final interview with a senior managing director

Recruitment process was very streamlined and provided the ability to showcase your skills knowledge and interest in the role. This was a result of multiple stages of testing which allowed you to show off your analytical, communication and problem solving skills.

Initial interview with HR, Secondary interview with a Director/MD, Number of assessments (case study & group project), Final in person interview with two Senior Managing Directors of the firm.

When I completed the interview process it was quite long. Application > Phone Interview > Online Interview on Teams > Group Case Study > Individual Case Study > Final Interview with Partners.

Phone interview, followed by two rounds of virtual/face interviews with a team-based and individual assessment.

Teleconference interview, a case study examination and a coffee catchup before being offered a position

The questions in the interview process were your standard "have you ever encountered X problem and how did you overcome it?". One of the final questions that really stuck with me is: "What do believe will be the biggest issues in the world economy over the next 10 years?".

- What excites you about the role? - What skills do you currently have that translate into a Role at FTI? - Describe how you have improved a process at work? - What's your greatest skill/weakness?

Very much more informal than initially expected. Management seemed to really want to understand my personality and career goals and whether I'd be a good cultural fit for the firm.

If applying for the Corporate Finance & Restructuring team, definitely look into the structure of external administration in Australia and read the FTI case studies.

Make sure your familiar with the job role and what a typical day could look like! Do your research about FTI and find what makes us different to other firms.

Show a genuine interest in the role whether that be by understanding what the job entails, or by knowing specific examples of FTI matters within the market. Be presentable and ask questions when being interviewed.

Be prepared with the knowledge of the type of work you want to work on and how that matches up with the segment graduate position you are applying for. Be prepared to ask a lot of questions to your interviewers - it should be a two way conversation.

Be inquisitive and conduct research into prior work FTI has completed.

Prepare by being sure about the sorts of work you want to do. You are not applying to work at a company, you are applying to fill a role
