Regular jobs are posted for horizontal movement in a company. Interests me as a new grad who can still go into new departments with an open mind. I can rotate into another department as a grad too.
Graduate, Melbourne - 10 Nov 2023
I haven't had promotions as I'm still new, but i have seen many people rewarded for their hard work and commitments.
Graduate, Sydney - 10 Nov 2023
Career progression seems to follow a set path of scientist/engineer to project manager to project director to technical director. You either go into management or go into a technical role
Graduate, Sydney - 10 Nov 2023
I am not getting any opportunities to make me feel like I am making any career progression
Graduate, Perth - 10 Nov 2023
At this point in time there is a clear path to complete the graduate program and progress to a 'full' engineer as the next step in my career. It feels like there are plenty of opportunities within GHD and my team to do so and specialise a bit more - and it seems like most specialisations are very in demand so there's plenty of choice. After that I'm not so sure, there seems to be a gap at the moment where there are a lot of grads and a lot of very experienced senior engineers but not many people in-between, so I'm not sure what the opportunities there are like.
Graduate, Perth - 07 Nov 2023
There is a lot of emphasis in the company on taking opportunities that arise, so even as a graduate, if an opportunity to gain a new skill or work for a different team has been offered to me, I have taken it. These opportunities are regularly offered, and new career opportunities are constantly shared amongst staff. Working at GHD has made me a highly sort after professional.
Graduate, Sydney - 06 Nov 2023
I have only been working full time 3 months so it is hard to assess this early on
Graduate, Perth - 06 Nov 2023
I have yet to be in a position to say so.
Graduate, Sydney - 06 Nov 2023
There are promotion opportunities however don't know too much about the exact process at this stage. It does however seem like it will be a long road.
Graduate, Melbourne - 03 Nov 2023
While I am a graduate there isn't too many promotion opportunities but after I finish my two year period you can progress to engineer and apply for RPEQ status and then try for senior engineer.
Graduate, Brisbane - 02 Nov 2023
I can see a clear positive career progression path for me in GHD and I have been moved upwards through positions already. This is very important to me. I believe it takes hard work and a focus on quality, and building internal networks and reputation, to move up the ranks.
Graduate, Brisbane - 02 Nov 2023
I cannot really say much as I am only new to the company.
Graduate, Sydney - 02 Nov 2023
As graduate i would expect i am promoted after 2 years
Graduate, Newcastle - 02 Nov 2023
At this point, it seems to be related to tenure and consistent work ethic.
Graduate, Brisbane - 02 Nov 2023
Experience in projects, winning work are required. Both time and quality of experience.
Graduate, Brisbane - 02 Nov 2023
Since transferring to a department more suited to me, I feel like I could stay at GHD for my entire career.
Graduate, Newcastle - 02 Nov 2023
Not too aware of promotion opportunities at grad level.
Graduate, Melbourne - 02 Nov 2023
Its clear that there are several paths/branches to go into if thats what you're after (i.e. management or more technical based). Similar with key client representatives or other internal positions.
Graduate, Newcastle - 02 Nov 2023
Promotions are based on merit, performance and level of experience.
Graduate, Sydney - 02 Nov 2023
I'm unsure on how to move up just yet. I am guessing I'll find more about this in the future but for now am just working through the graduate program.
Graduate, Cairns - 02 Nov 2023
