The firm definitely encourages and promotes diversity in the workplace.
Graduate, Perth - 20 Aug 2024
The firm is the market leader in the diversity and inclusion space. Leaders at the firm have a nuanced, sensitive and compassionate approach to issues.
Graduate, Sydney - 15 Aug 2024
It is very diverse, except for the partnership.
Graduate, Perth - 10 Nov 2023
Very committed, but more to be done in terms of getting results.
Graduate, Melbourne - 10 Nov 2023
The firm has a leading Diversity and Inclusion committee with many sub-committees. One of the best parental leave policies - 26 weeks paid regardless of parental role.
Graduate, Perth - 10 Nov 2023
Making good progress. A very good Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
Graduate, Melbourne - 10 Nov 2023
Your life experiences are considered including your family. A holistic approach.
Graduate, Perth - 08 Nov 2023
I am not really qualified to comment on this, but I think it is very good from what I can see. One of my good friends is LGBT and he fits in no problem.
Graduate, Perth - 08 Nov 2023
Standard to every other top tier law firm, we have a D&I committee and a few different networks that do an event or two every year.
Graduate, Perth - 07 Nov 2023
There are great diversity initiatives relating to women and LGBTI, however little focus is given in equal measure to other important diversity initiatives.
Midlevel, Brisbane - 12 Mar 2018
Market leading accreditation and recognition.
Graduate, Sydney - 09 Mar 2018
Officially the firm has good diversity policies and seems to be trying to hire a more diverse workforce (because the firm is not overly ethnically diverse at present). There are very active women's networks and LGBT networks. Most people in the firm respect people's child care responsibilities well.

Graduate, Perth - 20 Feb 2018
Could do with more women in upper management.
Graduate, Perth - 20 Feb 2018
Agile and flexible working is encouraged (depending on your team, I believe), the firm's IRIS Network and Diversity & Inclusion Committee host events and keep diversity issues front of mind (as in, increasing awareness)
Graduate, Perth - 19 Feb 2018
Parental leave (not just maternity leave) is supported. Part-time work does not appear to be any hurdle to promotion. The firm actively supports a number of LGBTI causes through public advocacy, law reform submissions and pro bono work. On the downside, there are very few female partners (despite many female SAs), and very few members of ethnic minorities at any level.
Midlevel, Perth - 19 Feb 2018
parental leave is available to both genders for a year. In Perth office few women, ethnic minorities or LGBTI people in senior positions. there is an LGBTI program and 30% women in leadership goal.

What does your company do to attract applicants from less privileged backgrounds?
Indigenous internship programs, financial support to make program legitimately accessible.
Graduate, Sydney - 09 Mar 2018
Summer clerk process seems to be very much based around experience and performance at university rather than 'who you know' which is probably beneficial to talented applicants from less privileged backgrounds. The firm also hires Indigenous 'career tracker' interns to try and give those participants good work experience and a door into the firm.
Graduate, Sydney - 21 Feb 2018
The company ensures that it does not discriminate because of background
Midlevel, Perth - 20 Feb 2018
Engage with relevant programs and actively develop people when they get them in their company.
Graduate, Perth - 20 Feb 2018
Internship programs but it is still very limited.
Graduate, Perth - 20 Feb 2018
Internships offered to pre-law students from an indigenous background.
Midlevel, Perth - 19 Feb 2018
Internships for people of indigenous descent
Graduate, Melbourne - 19 Feb 2018
There is a career trackers program in which indigenous students are invited to carry out work experience.
Graduate, Sydney - 19 Feb 2018
It supports various internship programs. Also, I personally am a testament to their willingness to hire people from less privileged backgrounds.
