Please tell us about promotion possibilities and fill us in on what it takes to move up the ranks.
Seems like a clear path for the time being.
Graduate, Melbourne - 08 Nov 2023
There are clear and transparent criteria for promotions and it is possible to do it quicker than the suggested timelines.

Moving up ranks appears to be a 2-3 year process regardless of achievement

I have yet to experience career progression through promotions. However, I have heard that there is lots of opportunity to improve and be promoted within Jacobs.

As I'm quite new I haven't really been exposed to this yet - however overall Jacobs seems to always have opportunities for employees to apply for positions internally
Graduate, Perth - 05 Nov 2023
The different career progression levels are very defined and you know exactly what is needed to move up. Time is not so much of a factor, if you are competent in those areas and have put in the work to move up a simple discussion with your manager and you can be elevated to the next level.

Not in a discipline that affords promotion prospects, however having been at high level management in previous industries I am not concerned about promotion.
Graduate, Melbourne - 04 Mar 2018
the process (if there is even one) is too convoluted and unnecessarily complex. there needs to be set check-ins with managers to track progress and a clear, explicit, concise assessment at the end. its deflating with how difficult it is to move up the ranks.

Title promotions are easier than pay promotions. I believe the latter is due to the bulk amount of people at the moment who are probably getting underpaid for their workload, and unhappy about it.
Midlevel, Melbourne - 28 Feb 2018
There is a career development framework, but the promotion criteria can be clearer and better-explained.

I am assuming in a few years i will become a design manager. Who knows what this takes to move up the ranks. This kind of thing is not communicated to us.

Just found out graduate program for me is for 5 years. A bit sad thing to know but rules are rules I guess.
