Process was comprehensive. Interviews with the entire team I joined as well additional staff member.

What questions were you asked in your interviews?

A range of technical questions based on M&A, corporate finance, LBOs and general aptitude (ie. brain teasers) A range of cultural questions on fit, intentions, ambitions, I also think the volume of exposure to team members through a number of interviews helped them gage my cultural fit.

Combination of both qualitative and quantitative technical questions. Equal number of questions on behavioural aspect such as on motivation, background, goals, etc.

A mix of technical and cultural questions, focused on both identifying how well you understand financial concepts as well as how well you would fit in at Jarden.

Interviews were almost always a mix of cultural and technical. The first couple of interviews were pure technical interviews. As the interviewers became more senior - the questioning style changed to more personal and motivational.

Reach out to people for a coffee prior to the process, study your technicals, be yourself and be authentic - every pre-written answer you memorise has been heard before.

Preparation for technical interviews is important, but I would also focus on staying informed on financial news and speaking to as many people in the industry as possible to work out if it is the right fit for you.

I found I learnt the most about investment banking by talking to people in the industry and reading forums online. Having a good understanding of the job and what's included in the role will make preparing for interviews much easier

I think the Jarden ethos is a massive component that differentiates us as a bank, and so learning about the company and why you would like to work at Jarden is one of the main pieces of advice I can give. In addition, making sure you can shine in the cultural interview will be a massive help.
