Introduction

Welcome to Nova Group’s Graduate Virtual Experience.

The Australian F-35A Project, also known as AIR6000 Phase 2A/2B, is introducing a fifth-generation air combat capability to meet Australia's air combat needs beyond 2030. Australia's F-35A will fulfill the functions of air dominance and strike capability currently provided by F/A-18A/B Hornets. In the 2016 Defence White Paper, the Government confirmed plans to equip the Air Force with 72 F-35A aircraft by 2023, to meet the planned Final Operating Capability. The Australian F-35A Project achieved Initial Operating Capability in December 2020 (REF) (REF).

Nova Systems is currently engaged on the F-35A Joint Strike Fighter project to assist in undertaking the Test & Evaluation (T&E) of this critical sovereign capability. (REF).

Pros and cons of working at Nova Systems

Pros

  • The community and culture are amazing. Everyone is friendly and always welcoming.

  • Flexible hours, good support.

  • The flexibility of work, variety of opportunities available and positive work environment.

  • The company invests in fostering community spirit and an interconnected culture.

  • Lots of amazing people who are willing to help and aid in your growth.

Cons

    • Probably due to the lack of knows, the industry is unpredictable, but that doesn’t always have to transfer to the grad program. There could be some fallback structure.

    • The office environment can on occasions often feel too quiet and remote.

    • The type of work can be not as interesting sometimes.

    • Graduate program was underwhelming. I don't think I have learnt a lot as an engineer.

    • Limited work opportunities. Tightened policy on relocation & flexible work.
