I've picked up skills in many areas thanks to Nova, throug in house training to ddo with de, t and e, EO, logistics etc

It is as informative but felt rushed and due to the variety of roles for billable work, it didn’t fully capture what skills you needed, just a general overview

The first month of the graduate program involves funded training such as Systems Engineering, Systems Safety, Intro to Consulting etc. We are also given a PD allowance where we can choose to enrol in self development courses or upskill in areas of interest aligning to our career aspirations.

Training in the first year of grad program was good. Mostly focused on intrapersonal/interpersonal communication.

All the grad program training + ecc + external training organised by grad program. Through both the mentoring program and being tagged up with experienced novans I have learnt alot about how to operate in a defence environment, how to conduct myself in stakeholder meetings and how to project manage and multitask. Ive learnt how to keep boundaries and compartmentalise information based on a need to know basis

The training has offered me some professional skills like how to give a presentation and effective business writing however I would like to see a bit more before I finish the graduate program.

Training and development has been exceptional. lots of opportunities for learning and development through Personal development allowance money. Also lost of formal and structured training during the introduction to the company.

Training was quite varying, giving exposure to Engineering tools, concepts, and skills. Some practical programs were set up for skills development in a supportive environment. and the company provided access to resources and people to tap into for training guidance. Communication skills, networking skills, some varying technical skills relating to systems engineering. and more were explored during some of the training programs. the company continues to reflect on the training and frequently asks for improvement feedback.

There are some skills that have been fantastic to learn. Certain hard skills, and things like Presenting with Impact and Effective Business writing were great to learn. There are other training related to soft skills that seemed irrelevant and not very useful (e.g. budgeting)

As part of the Graduate Program, we have been exposed with training covering a variety of Nova's Capabilities including (System Safety, T&E, EMB, Essential Consulting, etc...) Those training sessions have prepared me with the knowledge of what Nova does and offers externally and has set me up to do those roles in the future if the opportunity ever arises.

Lots of training that has been introductions to different areas of the business. Lots of training about soft skills and like skills. Lacking in career focused training, meaning there is not much training regarding how to do my job well, only how to interact with others well.

There is a structure to the program with how we progress in the consulting world. Ot's very beneficial to those not used to the office environment. After the first year, there's a bit of slack in how you want to steer that development.

Early there is a lot of training: work specific courses (test & evaluation, consulting, systems engineering, requirements writing, system safety, Defence logistics), professional speaking course, professional writing course. Later we have done: self-awareness, self-branding (how to do LinkedIn), consulting course.

Nova has a great introductory phase where you feel safe and secure as a graduate. You'll be exposed to generic across the board training so that you can get a taste for the different sides of the business. Once your first rotation is locked in you're likely to get some prepartory "on-the-job" training too, though a large part will be learnt on the job with a supporting Novan as Nova's work covers such a wide field of topics/disciplines.

The training modules during the first few months of employment were average. They were not very useful towards any particular role and the volume of training was quite short which was made worse by extended periods of time before starting in a billable role. I did not think that the scope and amount of training and development we received was consistent with the notion that there was more investment in our formal training + additional courses in lieu of full PD benefits. Many grads would rather take the additional PD and use that for my own tailored development. An alternative could be pseudo-projects run internally which get grads hands on with engineering/logistics work that is more translatable to their role.

The formal training was ok. Some of it was irrelevant (only relevant for a select few) and there was a very small amount of it. I feel it would have been better to have more, focused, training on the things we need to know and do to prepare for our roles and more specifically, our careers. We've essentially been left high and dry after the first couple of months. Informal training was ok as well but there was no context to it. So it also seemed pointless at the time. less pointless now, but still not hugely usefull

Systems safety and T&E training, were great overviews and introductions into the topic and gave a taste of what work some of Nova does. MBSE training (CAMEO and GENSYS) & UNSW systems engineering course, was an awesome introduction to model based systems engineering and a good refresher on Systems engineering processes. presentation training, good ideas and techniques for presenting.
