Please provide further information on diversity with respect to women, ethnic minorities and LGBT. Please comment on issues such as recruitment, retention, promotion, child care, maternity leave, etc.
Visibly diverse workforce and a focus on flexibility and diversity in training/recruitment processes, etc. Much less visible diversity in upper levels of management.

Our office is predominantly women, and has lots of flexibility for parents etc. From what I have seen everyone is very accepting and creates a safe working environment.

I am not too sure about all the commitments my company has to diversity as I don't hear/see too much on it day-to-day in the office. I know there are certain departments/committees whose role is to meet/encourage diversity but I don't see too much of it everyday.

I am of Aboriginal Australian descent. I had an independent employee of Aboriginal descent attend my structured recruitment interview to assist with asking questions and assessing my responses against the job criteria.

There is a LGBT club/community in the department I am in, very accommodating e.g. letting parents go to school pick up in the afternoon and work early/late depending on your life commitments, good maternity leave

I work in Transforming Aboriginal Outcomes, so that's a very important part of my work. I'm sure other areas of government may be different.

Diversity is a huge priority in the NSW government. It is expected that everyone treats all others with respect, regardless of any differences. There are proactive programs to ensure this is embodied, rather than just lip service. There are groups for LGBTIQA+ staff, staff with a disability, those from different cultural backgrounds and more. This commitment to diversity manifests itself in every aspect of the workplace, including the recruitment process.

In my experience there are more women than men, and many women in management positions. I've seen women be well-supported as they returned from maternity leave. There is also lots of ethnic diversity.

Diversity is very highly valued and there are employee resource groups that allow for inclusion for everyone.

Are a variety of Employee Resource Groups. The policies reflects inclusive and diversity. A core focus overall on the employees. I feel that the NSW Government does a lot more than I expected for employees.

There is a very diverse team in my particular agency, no barriers to recruitment or issues with mat leave that I have noticed.

Office is fairly diverse, however these are mainly in low to mid positions. Not too many culturally diverse people in the higher positions. There are a lot of women in leadership roles in my department so that's cool.

Within the DPE women are 50-50. There are many women in senior and the executive roles. They have a strong focus on diversity and respect. I have not heard of any issues with recruitment, retention, promotion, childcare or maternity leave.

I know TAO wants to have Aboriginal people working for them.

There are support options available within the application process for those who are disadvantaged, I am not as familiar with them as I haven't had to use any.

Internships for people with less privileged backgrounds

Accommodations in the assessment process for employment. Disability outreach program for summer and winter interns. I feel that NSW Government wants skilled people regardless of their background and a more diverse workforce is more highly skilled workforce. It can bring values and beliefs of the community that is served.

I am one. Can't say that I was attracted to this job via targeted comms or anything. I'm not too sure they do that well...I am from greater west syd and can't say that I have meant anyone else from where I'm from. Everyone I've met seems to be from pretty privileged areas.
