Working Hours at NSW Government

9.1
9.1 rating for Working Hours, based on 32 reviews
How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
Very flexible - we use "flexitime" so if you ever have to work a few extra hours, you will get those hours back to take time off as you need. The usual office hours are 9-5, but people sometimes work 8-4, 10-6, etc.

Working a 7 hour day can be a difficult adjustment to make after working casual jobs, especially when it has to be between a certain time of day. Although my company is quite good and flexible with these hours, so long as they are between the required times.

I generally work 7 hours per day. There is flexibility to do more or less depending on the demands of the day. Overtime can be converted to flex leave.

35 hours a week with anything above that as time off in lieu

I work 35 hours a week and NSW Government uses flex. So if you work over 35 hours (7 hours a day) then it is counted towards your flex. You can then use these flex hours to take time off.

The hours are 7hrs per day Mon-Fri, but you can add another 30mins a day for flex leave. One of the best aspects is the flexibility of work hours, location, etc.

Very flexible. You can do your contract hours at your leisure depending on your team's requirements. Most of the time is at home.

Work hours are very flexible thanks to the Flex system. It's very easy to save up hours to take a day off when you need to.

I really enjoy the flexibility of the working from home option, as well as the spread of business buildings regionally to allow individuals outside of Sydney to attend other offices.

I work in the office only as needed. I work seven hours a day for a total of 35 hours stated in my contract. I am happy to complete overtime when needed which I can use to take time off.

Very flexible work hours. Mandated to do 35 hours per week, but flex hours help a lot (can bank up extra hours and "spend" them for other things.

Basically 7 hr days. Only 2 in the office. It was very flexible.

2 days in office per week, with it being semi flexible on which days you come in, however your team will generally have days they go in so the days stay the same.

Pretty flexible as long as you do 7 hours a day all week

You work 7 hours a day (with a minimum half hour lunch break). The hours are flexible, and it is a conversation to be had with your manager. Any time that you work over the 7 hours a day accrues as flex leave (which you can take like regular leave).
