Summer Vacation Program
Our paid, 12-week Program, which starts in November this year, has been specifically designed to give you hands-on work experience as well as immersive development and learning opportunities.
It also feeds into our Telstra Graduate Program, which means if you’re one of our top performers you’ll be considered for early offers.
What you’ll be doing as a Data Analytics and Management summer intern
Our data analytics and management teams always stay two steps ahead as they use analytical tools and methods to derive insights from data to help our business and partners to thrive.
As a summer vacationer, you’ll be able to get insight into this cutting-edge work and see how our teams provide best practice solutions to help make better decisions for our business.
What skills and experiences do you need?
We’re looking for students who studying a degree like Business Information Systems, Computer Systems / Science, Information Technology Degrees, Data Analytics or Data Science.
You’ll also need to be a great communicator, a team contributor and someone who likes to solve complex problems.
Program eligibility
Our Summer Vacation Program is open to university students who are in the penultimate year of their studies of a minimum three-year undergraduate degree from an Australian university or those undertaking their master’s degree. So, you will need to be graduating in 2021 in order to be eligible.
International Students who have a valid visa that enables them to work in Australia without any work restrictions are eligible to apply for this pathway.

Very satisfied with the direction and support but also autonomy over day-to-day responsibilities that are made sure to align with my developmental goals and interests in skills.
The work I do is engaging and is helping me to develop my technical skills. My day-to-day involves short-term and long-term planning as well as ad-hoc requests. The mix between ad-hoc and forecast work is refreshing, I'm able to work towards long-term project goals but some days are spiced up by something new.

Cons
Because it is so large, coordination of work can be difficult, meaning tasks are being done by multiple teams at once.
It is very big.
Having to manage different time zones via hybrid working which also means we can't always see our team mates face to face, losing that in person benefit.
There is confusion about the structure of teams, groups, and functions.
Often difficult to get things done. Such a large company means many people involved in decision making.
