The Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) was established to oversee the elimination of 11085 level crossings across metropolitan Melbourne by 203025 in addition to other rail network upgrades such as new train stations, track duplication and train stabling yards.
Removing these85 dangerous and congested level crossings will improve safety, reduce travel congestion, improve travel time reliability and increase the capacity to run more trains more often. Our projects strive to improve the accessibility, amenity and functionality of the area around them and to leave a positive legacy for years to come. We’re also delivering Geelong Fast Rail.
LXRP are part of the Major Transport Infrastructure Authority (MTIA) which was established to oversee major transport infrastructure projects in Victoria.
