The Aboriginal Health Service (AHS) of Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Northern Sydney region, the Gaimariagal, Guringai and Dharug peoples. Their spirit can be found across the region and we honour the memory of their ancestors and Elders, past, present and emerging.
As we endeavour to serve the health needs within the community, we recognise the importance of the land and the waterways, as an integral part of people`s health and wellbeing.
Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) is committed to strengthening employment opportunities for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Workforce across the Northern Sydney region.
Northern Sydney's vision is to be "leaders in healthcare, partners in community wellbeing". Our purpose is "embracing discovery and learning, building partnerships and engaging our community to deliver excellent health and wellbeing."
AHS and NSLHD have established the Muru Dali Gili Gili Network for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce and networks. Muru Dali Gili Gili means 'Path To Shine' in the local Dharug language and this name was given to the network to formalise their identity across NSLHD.
