What makes Oliver Wyman different?

Our People and Culture – Our culture is centered on our people. We hire people with intelligence, energy, passion, emotional sensitivity, and a commitment to excellence. We believe that if we have common aspirations, a non-hierarchical environment based on respect, and no artificial barriers to advancement, then exceptional people will realize their potential. These beliefs are the bedrock of our dynamic, entrepreneurial culture.

The way we work We specialize early and do not have red tape or hierarchy around working for a certain number of years before consultants can specialize in a particular industry vertical. We also do not have an up or out policy.

The breadth of opportunities – Oliver Wyman is truly a global firm – with opportunities to work in new and exciting industries and places, with international colleagues. We have world-class expertise in a broad range of industries including Financial Services, Digital, Communications, Media and Technology, Retail and Consumer Goods and Transportation. Oliver Wyman is also committed to Social Impact. We partner with organizations whose work improves communities and lives around the world through microfinance, healthcare, education, global economic development, the arts, and much more.

Inclusion, Diversity & Belonging

At Oliver Wyman, our ambition is to create a sense of belonging for each of our people through our words and actions. We want all our people to be their best selves at work, exercising their right to be included and their duty to include others. We aspire to be positive role models at the individual, corporate and societal level. In all that we do, we prioritize equity, value inclusion, and expect respect.

Colleague Engagements

Our people networks ensure that all of our colleagues feel a sense of connection and community from day one. Members act as ‘reverse mentors’ to Oliver Wyman leaders on a regular basis, ensuring we continue to embed inclusion issues in our global agenda.

Our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) were created by colleagues who wanted to make an impact, their own way. These colleagues saw a need for these organizations and brought them to life from the ground-up. Now, they’re a central piece of firm life, for members and allies alike. Some of our ERGs include:

  • EMPOWERED:  Employees of Oliver Wyman Enabling Racial & Ethnic Diversity supports racial and ethnic diversity, enhancing the culture of Oliver Wyman, and creating a better firm and community for all employees.

  • FLOW: Family Life at Oliver Wyman enables parents and caregivers to support and educate peers and colleagues on related topics, build community, and drive improvement at the many intersections of work and family life.

  • PROWD: Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Trans, and Allies at Oliver Wyman champions cultural transformation within our firm and engages with external LGBTQ+ recruits, clients, and community organizations.

  • INTROW: Introversion at Oliver Wyman helps everyone better understand introversion versus extroversion, enabling colleagues to work more effectively together.
