The St Vincent's Graduate Nurse Program runs over 12 months. It is designed to support and facilitate the growth and development of the novice RN into a competent practitioner.
St Vincent's will provide you with a supernumerary period in order to find your feet, during this period you will be allocated a mentor, who will continue to support you throughout your graduate program. You will have regular performance reviews with your Mentor and NUM. The Clinical Nurse Educator will also check-in with you regularly.
You will be provided with a Graduate Nurse Program Workbook and will attend monthly educational workshops in order to further your knowledge base and skills. All education will relate to the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and how to implement 'best practice' nursing care.
