Pros & Cons

  • The best aspect of working here is the culture.
  • Working within the team is the best part at working at E&P. The team is friendly and supportive - there is always someone available to help. I also receive regular feedback and great tips to help improve my work.
  • - Competitive graduate salary - Clear promotion criteria - Good culture.
  • - The knowledge I have gained, it has been a great learning experience - The people and company culture - Access to morning meetings where I learn more about the economy on a macro and micro level - My team's devoted efforts to ensure I take the most I can from this experience e.g. watching them conduct trades, and attending client meetings.
  • In the program, they are giving me valuable work and in-depth feedback so I can get the most out of the internship program.
  • Lots of admin work.
  • Two presentations. I can understand that the skillset is needed for the job however considering its unsettling nature I think 1 is sufficient.
  • Not many opportunities for remote work - however very positive culture inside the office.
  • As we approach Christmas I would like to be busier however understand this is a quiet time for the industry.
  • The training program is thoughtful, designed to keep the interns busy and concurrently educated. In terms of feedback, I think two presentations is excessive given the small role as an intern.

The workplace culture is excellent. The team is very friendly and approachable (including managers and directors). There are weekly meetings to ensure the team stays up to date on new events. Additionally, there are monthly celebrations for the entire office (birthdays, work anniversaries, promotions, etc.), as well as Friday lunches and happy hour (drinks and games) to encourage socialising amongst peers.

The managers are very approachable and friendly. They ensure you get the right training, and are always there to answer any questions and provide knowledge/assistance. They also check-in on your progress by setting-up monthly catchups.

The office space is state of the art, located at 171 Collins St. Has great facilities including changerooms and a coffee shop. Dress code is Business Smart. Casual on Fridays.

The interview process and assessment day ran extremely smoothly. There were three activities including a group task, group presentation and interview each having clear correlation to the role. Objectives and expectations were made clear and insight into the role was also clearly established.

I find the pay and benefits (bonus) to be very generous in my role and have heard that the salary package is above the median salary for similar roles.
